Marcha Migrante V ( 2010 ) “American Dream Or American Nightmare? Ni Una Muerte Mas, Reforma Ya!

Border Angels is a San Diego based non- profit organization which consists of extraordinary volunteers who work toward preventing unnecessary deaths of individuals traveling through the Imperial Valley desert areas and the mountain areas surrounding San Diego County, as well as the areas located around the United States and Mexican border. The high percentage of unnecessary deaths have been results of extreme heat and cold weather conditions, and sadly some as the result of racial-discrimination crimes.

Border Angels are about to embark on their fifth annual Marcha Migrante, an emotional journey filled with legalization and immigration reform meetings, speakers, vigils, mobilization and demonstrations. It begins on February 2nd in Sasabe, Sonora, Mexico and travels as a caravan through Tucson and Phoenix, AZ; Coachella, CA; Yuma, AZ, Calexico, CA; and ends finally in Holtville, CA on Feb. 5th, at Holtville Cemetery for prayer and reflection on the more than 700 unidentified migrants buried there.
On Feb 6th in San Diego, at Chicano Park, there will be a Joint Action / Community Forum and Rally from Noon to 3pm. Everyone is welcome.

If you can participate in this Marcha for the entire way, or attend one of the events as it passes near or through your city, or make a donation to Border Angels, it would be an important step toward meaningful reform. The time is now.

Si se puede ! Stop the raids, stop the wall and give us humane and comprehensive reform!
