Thank you for a wonderful concert last night at the Teatro Macedonio. We almost didn't get in - we showed up at the venue at 8:20pm and were greeted with locked doors and the staff inside refusing us entrance, even though we all had tickets. One person said she arrived a few minutes after 8 and was not let in! The crowd grew (at least 20 - 25 folks) and began pounding on the doors - it was either let us in or refund us our money. It was astounding that even tho we all had tickets (and by the way we were never informed the night before at the cancelled show that we had to be at this show before 8 or by 8 en punto!), we were being denied entrance. We stayed outside for a good 1/2 hour trying to plead our case (unbelievable, really!). Finally they let us in as long as we went to the very top level (standing only). Once we got in, it was apparent why they did not want to let us in - there were no vacant seats in the main auditorium. However, that is no excuse. Everyone standing outside paid $500/p for a ticket - quite a bit of money down here. We showed up in the rain the night before only to have the show cancelled (justifiably), and then changed plans to make the Friday night show, only to be denied entrance for at least 1/2 hour?!? It was a happy ending, but at the expense of incredible frustration.
